Indian Diaspora

Hi guys,

I have just visited "Pravasi Bhartiya Divas Europe" (
http://pbdeurope.org/) in Den Haag, Netherlands on Saturday. It was a great experience to start with. To see so many Indians in highly decorated positions around Europe meant not only a thriving experience but also a very surprising one. It is no more a secret that we "Indians" excel ourselves everywhere we go. Contributing a great deal to the host nations as well as keeping an emotional attachment to our mother land and the will to do something for India is truly Indian in nature.

Integrity was at its highest peak at the event. I listened to many speakers of Indian origin who have lived in the Netherlands for long time. When they spoke in English, it was not in an Indian accent but a Dutch accent, still keeping the subject in and around India. Integrity cannot be better than this.

My appeal to our friends and brethren in this wonderful group is to acknowledge the fact and join each others hands in the new era of global village by removing cultural, political and economical barriers and celebrate humankind.

Yes We Can!

Twitter

Just got some news, probably noone is reading this blog anyways but if someone does and if you have a twitter account, please change your location to Tehran and your time to GMT+3:30.

Security forces are hunting for bloggers using location/timezone searches. The more people at this location, the more of a logjam it creates for forces trying to shut Iranians' access to the internet down.

Kick it like Iran!

I have been trying to follow the aftermath of Iran's presidential election's results, as closely as possible. There are some facts that I found very interesting, for example half of Iran's popultaion is under 25. India has almost the same proportion.

Iranian blood seems to me revolutionary, on the contrary Indian blood seems to me very cold and accepting and adjusting. This nature is not necessarily bad for Indians, adjusting to the circumstances has been the key of human and other species' survival. But it also stops to adjusting the environment instead of changing yourself.

Why can Iranians show their anger on the streets and Indians cannot? Remember we used to it very well in the times of British Raj. I have read Times of India everyday for a long time, there is yet a day to pass where there is no news about some rape. Why can't all the Indians unite in this cause?

There was a big demonstration after the 26/11 attack on Mumbai. Sure we had to do this, it was necessary by all means but think in numbers, how many people have died in these attacks? barely a few hundreds. There are at least hundred women being obducted in India everyday. Latest fashion is to rape in the car on the roads where the companion drives. Why can't the Government make it illegal to have black shaded windows? This will save atleast some lives! Sure, I know its hot in India but there are otherways to reflect the sun, using transperent reflective material..
